About Historic Britain
For visitors interested in experiencing Britain's history, we want to make it easier for you to plan your trip and easier to make your bookings, and in the process, make Britain's history more accessible.
For historic property owners and managers, and tour operators, the vision of Charlie Ramsay, the founder, is to generate revenue for those people that incur the cost of maintaining Britain's heritage. This is through online bookings including accommodation reservations (for hotels, inns, bed and breakfasts, and private houses that admit paying guests), visitor tickets (for museums, monuments, castles, houses and gardens that are open to the public), and guided tour tickets.
In 2008, 77% of travellers conducted their travel planning online, and 62% book their accommodation over the internet (British Hotel Guest Survey 2008). Our solution is designed as both a powerful online marketing tool that can be used as stand alone or to compliment existing marketing initiatives, and also as an accommodation and ticketing administration tool: through a high level of automation, we save you time (e.g. answering the telephone and responding to emails) whilst maintaining a high level of control and flexibility.
In this way, and through our ease of use, we have a track record of helping properties that had previously been daunted by the administration involved in opening to the public, or how to advertise. We aim to help many hundreds of other properties across the UK open to the public for the first time, thus enriching Britain's tourist appeal.
If you are a historic property or tour guide operator and are interested in hearing more about our service, please contact Charlie Ramsay at charlie.ramsay@historicbritain.com.
We will be able to provide you a password so you can access the Introductory Video, and the Demonstration which explains how it all works.
