Accommodation and travel ideas in Ayrshire
Ayrshire is a predominantly a rural county made up of many small coastal towns such as Ayr, Girvan, West Kilbride, Saltcoats, Irvine and Prestwick and other towns like Kilmarnock, Largs and Portencross. Ayrshire is a county in the south west of Scotland bordered by Dumfries and Galloway to the south and Glasgow to the north. The county used to be defined by its industry and the coastal resort towns that became popular because of its proximity to Glasgow, although this has now declined due to airports allowing people to holiday abroad. The scenery of the area though is breathtaking and patently different to the popular views of the Highlands.
