The Brecon Beacons National Park is located in southern Wales stretching from Hay-on-Wye in the east to Llandeilo in the west. Within an area of 520 sq miles, the Park contains some of the most spectacular and distinctive upland formations in southern Britain including the Black Mountains, the Central Beacons and Fforest Fawr. There are also many rivers, gorges, forests and moorland.

The actual hills are, of course, the main attraction here with the vistas, experience, activities and visitor attractions that go with that. Cardiff, the capital, and Swansea with its beaches are not far away of the weather is too bad to get onto the hills while there enchanting market towns to visit on the edge of the beacons, such as Llandovery.
