Dorset is very rural and has no cities but has the large coastal towns of Bournemouth, Weymouth and Poole; the county town of Dorchester; and many attractive market towns such as Blandford Forum, Sherborne, Gillingham, Shaftesbury and Sturminster Newton. Dorset borders Devon to the west, Somerset to the north-west, Wiltshire to the north-east, and Hampshire to the east. The county is famous for its Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, its many coastal resorts and its many ancient settlements and hill forts throughout the county.
