Edinburgh: bed and breakfast accommodation

"Auld Reekie", the Royal seat of Scotland since 1437, is undoubtedly and proudly Scottish and traditional. With the Castle rising above the city atop a volcanic rock, Edinburgh combines medieval relics in Old Town, Georgian grandeur in New Town with contemporary Scottish life permeating them both. In Edinburgh, medieval palaces rub shoulders with the best of modern architecture, Gothic churches with amazing museums and galleries.

Historic places to visit in Edinburgh

The focal point of the city has to be the enormous Castle with the Royal Mile, Old Town and Holyroodhouse which all have a long, varied at sometimes sinister past. Many of the other monuments and attractions are connected old Edinburgh tales. The view from Arthur's Seat, though an effort, gives you a full idea of the city and hopefully a glimpse of the HMS Brittannia in the port of Leith.

Historic Edinburgh bed and breakfasts (B&Bs) and hotel accommodation in Edinburgh

The more historic hotels and bed and breakfasts will be around the castle and Princes Street but there are a decent range of hotels throughout the city along with more rural hotels and B&Bs to stay at within easy reach of the city. Overall, there is a good range of bed and breakfast accommodation.
