The largest city in the UK, by almost 8 times, is also probably the most diverse and culturally rich boasting four World Heritage Sites amongst its countless attractions and architectural 'one-offs'. Its architecture is diverse not just because large swathes were destroyed in both the Great Fire of 1666 and the Blitz of the 1940s but also due to the influence of such a diverse population (London has 300 languages). Whether it is the architecture, the history, the shopping, the nightlife and theatre or art then, as Samuel Pepys the diarist said: "When a man is bored of London, he is bored of life."
