Accommodation and travel ideas in Lincolnshire

Lincolnshire's towns are a range from the historical cathedral city of Lincoln, to the coastal resort towns like Grimsby, Cleethorpes, Skegness and Mablethorpe, and the market towns such as Gainsborough and Market Rasen. The county is positioned on the eastern edge of the East Midlands in between Norfolk and Yorkshire and is predominantly flat agricultural land the whole way to the coast apart from the Lincolnshire Wolds which have been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The tourism of the area is mainly based along the coast although the historic parts are around Lincoln, the Wolds and the market towns throughout the county.

Historic places to visit in Lincolnshire

The county and Cathedral city of Lincoln is very historic and features ancient streets, a castle and museums. There are market towns with the associated parish churches throughout the county but particular in the outstandingly attractive Wolds, with a decent scattering of historic houses, castles gardens and abbeys for people to visit. The coastal resorts are also popular attractions.

Historic Lincolnshire bed and breakfasts (B&Bs) and hotel accommodation in Lincolnshire

The more historic hotels and bed and breakfast accommodation tends to be towards the centre of the older towns. For those that prefer quieter rural locations then there are many hotels, pubs and B&Bs in the smaller towns and villages throughout the area.
