Accommodation and travel ideas in London
The largest city in the UK, by almost 8 times, is also probably the most diverse and culturally rich boasting four World Heritage Sites amongst its countless attractions and architectural 'one-offs'. Its architecture is diverse not just because large swathes were destroyed in both the Great Fire of 1666 and the Blitz of the 1940s but also due to the influence of such a diverse population (London has 300 languages). Whether it is the architecture, the history, the shopping, the nightlife and theatre or art then, as Samuel Pepys the diarist said: "When a man is bored of London, he is bored of life."
Historic London bed and breakfasts (B&Bs) and hotel accommodation in London
There are places to stay all over London and generally the more central they are then the more exclusive they are. As London is so large and diverse, it may well be worth finding a hotel in a slightly different area than you are planning on spending a lot of your time to get wider experiences. As with many cities, some may like to find a more rural hotel or B&B and there are many of these within an hour or so of the attractions of central London.
Historic places to visit in London
London boasts four World Heritage Sites: The Palace of Westminster, Westminster Abbey and St. Margaret's Church; the Tower of London; the historic settlement of Greenwich; and the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and at least some of these attractions should be on your visit list. There are countless museums with free entry especially across Kensington and then more quirky markets in Notting Hill, home of the world famous Carnival. One of the greenest cities in the world, you could spend time relaxing in one of the enormous parks or make up your mind on what you should see close up when on top of the London Eye.
