Salisbury: bed and breakfast accommodation

Salisbury houses the magnificent Cathedral and stands at the confluence of the five rivers that become the Avon since moving from the rotten borough of Old Sarum. Whilst the origins lie in the Bronze Age, it had relevance for the Romans, Saxons and Normans. The Cathedral has the tallest spire in the UK and has helped Salisbury be the foremost place of Wiltshire since the 14th century.

Historic place to visit in Salisbury

The Cathedral is the deserving main attraction within the town but to take in the full history of the place a visit is needed to the Old Sarum, the original settlement to the north of the modern city. And, of course, to the Neolithic remains of nearby Stonehenge, not to mention the other museums and points of interest within the city.

Historic Salisbury bed and breakfasts (B&Bs) and hotel accommodation near Salisbury

The more historic hotels and bed and breakfasts will be towards the centre but there are a decent range of hotels throughout the city along with more rural hotels and B&Bs to stay at throughout the breathtaking West Country.
