This Cathedral city and county town of Worcestershire sits on the river Severn and overlooked by its 12th century Anglican cathedral. With its origins lying in Neolithic times the ford was then fortified by the Romans. It then developed through industry and the cloth trade and has been made more famous by being the birthplace of Elgar.

The Cathedral and Royal Visitor Centre are two major attractions within the city centre and there are museums all over but the Elgar Birthplace Museum just outside Worcester is worth the visit and the trip. There are heritage sites architectural examples from throughout the ages throughout the city.
