Worcestershire's county town, Worcester, is a gateway for many other towns such as Droiwich, Evesham, Malvern, Redditch, Stourport-on-Severn and a village that is often referred to as the "Jewel of the Cotswolds", Broadway. Worcestershire is part of the West Midlands and is bounded by its own Malvern Hills in the west, the southern part of the county is bordered by Gloucestershire and the northern edge of the Cotswolds, and to the east is Warwickshire. The two major rivers flowing through the county are the Severn and the Avon. Having been a settlement and centre of production in Roman times the county also played host to battles in the Civil War.
Historic places to visit in Worcestershire
There are several follies in Worcestershire, most notably Broadway Tower, which give fantastic views across the county. There are fantastic religious buildings such as Worcester Cathedral and Great Malvern Priory in the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Malvern Hills. There are several historic houses and gardens throughout the county with some museums giving a further insight into to different aspects of the county's history.

The more historic hotels and bed and breakfast accommodation tends to be towards the centre of the older towns. For those that prefer quieter rural locations then there are many hotels, pubs and B&Bs in the smaller towns and villages throughout the area.
