Introduction

A traditional hotel with a chic modern twist. Thirty-seven individually decorated ensuite bedrooms consisting of single, twin, double rooms and suites. Some bedrooms have balconies and river views with others overlooking the rooftops of Sandwich. All rooms have ensuite bathrooms, bespoke toiletries, hair dryers, coffee and tea making facilities, digital radios and remote controlled televisions and telephones. WI FI is accessible throughout the hotel.

History to the present day

The Bell Hotel has been welcoming guests to stay and dine in Sandwich, Kent since Tudor times. A Bell Inn has existed on The Quay, adjacent to the Barbican Gate and Toll, overlooking what would have been the harbour, now the River Stour, since about 1300.

Food and Drinks

Breakfast is served Monday to Friday 7.00am - 9.30am and 8.00am - 10.00am at weekends. From the buffet, a basket of freshly baked croissants, pain au chocolat and mixed breads, fresh fruit salad, fruit basket, selection of cereals, homemade jams and marmalades, local honey, local yoghurts - selection of plain or live, home baked ham and napoli salami and a platter of sliced cheese, with a selection of local orchard juices and orange juice. For a cooked breakfast choose from local free range eggs, cooked to your choice, grilled, smoked or unsmoked bacon, herb sausages, mushrooms, fresh grilled tomatoes or smoked whiting or kippers. All served with a choice of teas and coffees. Guests can also enjoy breakfast in their rooms. Lunch and dinner are served daily in the hotel's restaurant where local foods such as fish and seafood, salt marsh lamb, vegetables, salads and herbs from nearby farms are sourced and cooked simply to bring out their fullest natural flavours.

Directions: Within 15 minutes of the Channel ports of Dover and Ramsgate.

Leave the A2 at Patrixbourne exit, continue onto Station Road signposted Littlebourne. Turn right onto A257. At roundabout take 2nd exit into Ash Road, bear left into Strand Street, right into High Street, left into Upper Strand Street.
