Introduction

The Black Horse Inn is tucked beneath the steep face of the North Downs on the Pilgrims Way, a homely and welcoming Inn adorned with hops and beams with an open log fireplace to welcome you in winter.

The hotel has 28 ensuite rooms with modern facilities providing a peaceful bed and breakfast. Dogs and pets are welcome and the Inn is open all day all year.

History to the present day

The actual age of the Inn is not known but in the 18th Century it may well have been a forge with adjoining barns and stables owned by the Fuller family. Between 1744 and 1751 the buildings were converted to an Inn and given the present name.

Food and Drinks

Breakfast is served Monday - Friday 7.00am - 9.30am and Saturday and Sunday 8.00am - 10.00am.

Food and drink is available all day from 12.00pm and dining in the garden conservatory is very popular on sunny days and warm evenings when you can see the peaceful surroundings of the countryside. The hotel chefs pride themselves on a menu using the best local and homegrown produce to give you an exciting range of mouth-watering English and Continental dishes including an award wining menu ranging from steak, fresh fish and game when in season. On Sundays, a Sunday roast is prepared alongside the other menus.

Grounds and gardens

The hotel has beautiful gardens where you can dine Al Fresco and is licenced for Civil Wedding in a lovely outdoor gazebo. The grounds include various ponds and a duck pond and there is a network of footpaths and bridle paths in the area used for cyclists, walkers and horse riders with magnificent views.
