Introduction

The Vernon-Miller family welcomes you to Blackwell Grange. Situated in fields on the northern edge of the Cotswolds Blackwell Grange is a 17th century farm house, as its low beamed ceilings, stone flagged floors and deep-set windows testify. It looks out on to open fields stretching south towards the Cotswold hills.

It is still a farm: a flock of pedigree sheep grazes the fields, and free ranging Wyandotte bantams, prolific layers of eggs for a real English breakfast, help with a spot of gardening. Both the sheep and hens star and win at agricultural shows around the country.

The area is one of outstanding natural beauty, dotted with golden - stoned Cotswold villages: Snowshill, Chipping Campden, the Swells and the Slaughters to name but a few. You can leave cars behind to walk the “Centenary Way”, Stanton, Stanway and Broadway Tower or roam the bridleways. A picnic  can be packed for you, though you may prefer to pause at a pub, or treat yourself to a cream tea.

The spacious bedrooms, with zip-and-link beds, are all en-suite and have tea/coffee facilities. Log fires, deep sofas and plenty to read, offer warmth and relaxation at the end of a winter's day. In summer though, the colours, perfumes and sounds of an English country garden are a real temptation to let the world go by as you read, or write, or plan or dream.

History to the present day

From humble beginnings nearly 400 years ago, Blackwell Grange has evolved into a comfortable, rambling farmstead with flagstone floors, beamed ceilings, deep-set mullioned windows and generous fireplaces.
