Brodsworth Hall offers a unique glimpse into what 19th Century family life was really like at this country house. The wonderful gardens have something to please all ages from the formal gardens and pleasure grounds to a new outdoor children’s play area.
History to the present day
At Brodsworth Hall and Gardens near Doncaster you’ll discover the story of a house and the memories of a home that evolved through the ages. Conserved as it was found in the 1980s, the Hall's interior offers a time capsule of family life, from High Victoriana to the retro additions of the mid 20th-century. Discover the stories of the people who lived and worked on the estate.
Grounds and gardens
Explore the enchanting gardens whatever the weather or season, which have been restored to their 1860s magnificence and divided into distinctive areas, there is always something new on offer every season. See the magnificent fern dell, stunning displays of roses and immaculate lawns as well as the classical summerhouse. Children can let off steam in the new play area, with a boat and mini rocking horses reflecting the family's sporting pursuits.

Visitors please note that prams and back carriers for babies are not allowed in the fragile interiors of the hall. Staff can provide small padded pushchairs and slings for visitors' use.
For visitors with mobility needs, the leg-weary or families with young children, a six-seater electric buggy operates a shuttle service from the public car parks. The smooth paths and benches throughout the gardens enable visitors to rest and enjoy the atmosphere, although some steps and steep slopes limit access to parts of the garden. The hall is accessed by ramps and has seats along the route for visitors to use, many handrails and a lift to enable visitors to enjoy the first floor.
Parking: 250m from entrance. Disabled drivers can park near the hall entrance; disabled passengers can be set down near the hall entrance.
Visually Impaired Visitors: It is possible to handle the collection in the family room, including the recreated fabrics, carpets and wallpapers.
