Introduction

This lovingly restored Victorian terrace, recently awarded 4 stars by the AA, offers comfortable and co-ordinated rooms with all modern facilities. Each room is en suite with tea and coffee making facilities, television with freeview, some with DVD/CD player. To enable you to start your stay the local way, a glass of 'Harvey's Bristol Cream' is offered on arrival. Louise and Chris with many years of hospitality experience between them have brought all their knowledge together to build upon the success of Devonshire House. Please note there is a minimum of 2 night stays at weekends.

A hearty continental breakfast is served, with the option of a cooked breakfast at a supplement available. 

For dinner close by, the Devonshire Arms serves pub food just next door and 3 minutes down the hill is another pub and a great intimate bistro.

Free wifi. Free parking on street plus limited parking in the secure courtyard, if you are not using your car during your stay. Designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, Bath presents some of the finest architectural sights in Europe such as the Royal Crescent, the Circus and Pulteney Bridge alongside a diverse collection of museums and attractions including the Roman Baths, Bath Abbey and Thermae Bath Spa. An easy 15 minute downhill walk into the city of Bath and all its historic delights, why not combine a bit of history with a soak in the relaxing waters of the Thermae Bath Spa. A great base from which to visit Longleat House and Safari, Wells, Glastonbury, Lacock, Castle Combe, Wales and the Cotswolds.

Directions: From M4, exit at Junction 18, on the A46 into Bath. At large roundabout follow signs to Bath on the A4, until the large set of traffic lights, a convenience store is on the corner. Get into the left hand lane and turn left onto Cleveland Place which leads into Bathwick Street. At the traffic light junction, outside the Crown Pub, be in the right hand lane and bear round to the right. Straight over next roundabout, passing the County Hotel on your right. Get into the left hand lane, continue straight on at traffic lights, you will come through Widcombe (shops on either side) stay in left hand lane on small dual carriage way, give way, then take the first left signposted A367 towards Shepton Mallet and Radstock. Follow this road up the hill, passing the ‘Bear Pub’ on your right, leading onto the Wellsway. Devonshire House is on the left next to The Devonshire Arms Pub.

From A4 Bristol: Take the A4 out of Bristol towards Bath. Through Keynsham (bypass) and Saltford, at roundabout with the ‘Globe’ pub on. Continue straight on A4 (do not take A4 Weston) towards Twerton. This is the Lower Bristol Road. Continue on this road for approximately 2 miles, at Esso petrol station, shortly after this you will give way, move over into the right hand lane at Give Way sign. This is the Churchill Bridge. You will need to drive under the Churchill Bridge to the right and follow the signs to A367. Follow directions as above from M4.

London: 1½ - 2hours. Birmingham: 1½ - 2hours. Exeter: 1 – 1½ hours.
