Introduction

Open all year round, and rated 3 stars by the Scottish Tourist Board. Edinburgh House is a family run guest house only a short walk or bus ride to Edinburgh's city centre attractions such as Princes Street, Calton Hill, The Royal Mile, Holyrood Palace and Edinburgh Castle.

All the rooms are finished to a high standard with en suite bathrooms, multi-channel, flat screen digital TV, tea/coffee making facilites, hairdryers and free Wi-Fi internet access in every room. All bedrooms are situated on the ground floor with the dining room on the lower-gound floor, accessed by stairs. Choose from double and family rooms. Guests are supplied with their own door keys to allow free access into the property.

Food and Drinks

Full Scottish breakfast served in the light and airy dining room from 8.00am-9.15am Monday to Saturdays and 8.30am-9.15am Sundays. Choose from a selection of menu items such as bacon, sausage and eggs, traditional porridge with honey or scrambled eggs with Scottish smoked salmon. Indulge in a cake or pastry along with a selection of drinks to start your day. Breakfast "to go" can be organised in advance for guests leaving early for day trips.

Directions: From the A720 Edinburgh bypass, at the roundabout, take 1st exit onto Old Craighall Junction then merge onto A1. At roundabout, take 2nd exit and bear left onto A199 Sir Harry Lauder Road. Turn left onto A1140 Portobello Road, and keep straight onto A1 London Road. Keep right onto B1350 London Road and at the roundabout, take 2nd exit onto A900 Leith Walk and then turn left onto McDonald Road.
