Introduction

Ffynnon Fendigaid is an old Welsh stone farmhouse dating back to 1775. Located in rolling countryside and only two miles from blue flag sandy beaches and the coastal path which runs the length of Ceredigion.

History to the present day

'Ffynnon Fendigaid' (Magnificent Spring) was built to house the families of servants working in 'the big house' of The Goggerddan Estate which stretched from Aberystwyth in the North to Cardigan in the South. The owners who have lived here for seven years are both designers and have created a mix of the old and new, and have been awarded 5 stars by Visit Wales.

Food and Drinks

Breakfasts are served in the old parlour (much transformed) between 7.30am - 8.45am and full Welsh or Continental options are available a la carte. Local produce such as bacon sausages, welsh yoghurt and vegetables are served to take advantage of the wealth of excellent produce on the doorstep. Evening meals can also be served by prior notice. (This service may not be available at busy times).

Grounds and gardens

Enjoy 6 acres of gardens, some formal and some wilder corners. A small lake (the Ffynnon Fendigaid) and a ribbon of small ponds along the stream which flows through the property. There is an area of natural woodland and in the summer this is transformed by seven different varieties of indiginous lush ferns. There are formal lawns but also a sloping south facing meadow with spectacular views across the Hoffnant Valley. Benches and seats are scattered throughout for guests and loungers and deck chairs are also available to take to your favourite spot.

Other facilities

Rooms are all doubles with ensuite bathrooms with shower (one also has a bath). There are tea and coffee facilities in the rooms together with flat screen televisions. A guest lounge is available for relaxing in, and internet access is available on site.
