It has been a hotel since 1979 under the ownership of the Robinson family who have farmed at Headlam for four generations. Sir Nikolaus Pevsner described Headlam Hall as "a perfect example of a medium sized manor house of stone, Jacobean on one side and of eighteenth century on the others".
