Introduction

This award winning hotel and restaurant is ideally located in the beautiful town of Keswick, with magnificent lake and mountain views and only a few minutes walk from the town centre and the popular theatre by the lake. All rooms have been thoughtfully restored to offer the highest quality hotel accommodation. With 18 beautifully decorated bedrooms all en-suite with TV and DVD players, radio alarm clocks, telephones and tea and coffee facilities. 

History to the present day

Built in the late 1880’s as two private residences using local Borrowdale slate from only a few miles away. The hotel incorporates many Victorian features such as balconies, turrets, bay windows, a veranda for your pre-dinner drink and even a converted chapel which is now a guest room "The Woodford Room".

Food and Drinks

Full English breakfast is included at this award winning restaurant. Awarded by The Times newspaper (Squaremeal.co.uk) during May 2007 as one of the UK’s Top Ten most Scenic Restaurants. The restaurant has been awarded a Visit England Breakfast Award and for culinary excellence and service two coveted AA Rosettes; Highfield is the only restaurant or hotel in the town of Keswick to hold two coveted AA Rosettes. The dinner menu changes daily and is imaginatively prepared using the very best of fresh seasonal local produce and is served between 6.30pm-8.30pm.

Directions: From the A66 West, sign posted Keswick. Turn right at the mini-roundabout, signposted 'Borrowdale'. Follow this road round to the left and you will see The Heads shortly on your right. Follow road to Highfield Hotel car park.
