Introduction

Centrally situated in the coastal village of Cruden Bay, only 800 metres from the world renowned Cruden Bay Links Golf Course, the hotel offers an excellent base for golf and other sporting pursuits. A short walk to the beach and historic harbour and Slain Castle and central for exploring the whisky and castle trails.

The hotel offers en suite accommodation in a choice of single, double and twin rooms. The spacious rooms can accomodate additional beds, making comfortable family rooms, please book as a room upgrade. All rooms include coffee and tea making facilities, satellite television, hairdryer, iron and board and CD/radio alarm clock. 

History to the present day

Named after the fifteenth Earl of Erroll's Father, fourth Earl of Kilmarnock, the Kilmarnock Arms Hotel has been welcoming guests for over 200 years. The first recording of the hotel was when a local newspaper in 1888 reported a dinner in honour of a departing tenant from Braehead Farm. The hotels most noted guest, Bram Stoker, was a regular at the hotel in 1894  and is most famous for his book "Dracula" which is said that the idea for the book was born whilst sitting next to Slains Castle in the wind and the rain.

Food and Drinks

Full English/Scottish breakast included and served in the light and airy restaurant, with views over the gardens. Enjoy traditional Scottish lunch and dinner dishes made from fresh locally sourced produce, cooked to order. Special dietary requirements are catered for. Open daily for lunch from 12.00pm-2.00pm and dinner from 5.00pm-9.00pm. 

Enjoy a relaxed dining experience in the friendly surroundings of the Lounge Bar. Warm and cosy, guests can order from the main or lounge bar menus. Open throughout the day, for meals or refreshments.

Enjoy the lively, local public bar, known as the “Killie” for a real taste of Cruden Bay. Guests can be assured of good company whether you are enjoying a local beverage or a favourite tipple. Enjoy some music from the fully stocked juke box or have a game of darts. Open daily.

Grounds and gardens

Relax in the spacious beer garden with a drink while younger guests can enjoy the outside play area.
