Introduction

Market Cross Guest House offers you luxury accommodation, award winning hospitality and fabulous food. Each room has its own en-suite bathroom or shower-room, generously provided with soft, fresh towels, bathrobes and complimentary toiletries. There is also a flatscreen LCD television, Freeview digital, a radio-alarm clock, hairdryer, mini-refridgerator, kettle and a full hospitality tray (with a variety of drinks, biscuits and sweets).

Food and Drinks

On fine mornings, you may be fortunate enough to sample one of Jill's famous Northumbrian breakfasts, out in the open air, in the old enclosed courtyard.  Traditional breakfast fayre includes "Bamburgh Bangers" (award winning local sausage) and the famous Craster kippers. The extensive menu includes vegetarian choices, healthy options and a huge choice of delicious breakfast dishes that reflect the quality and diversity of local produce. Fish dishes are a speciality. Try Kedgeree, Omelette Arnold Bennet, Salmon Fishcakes, Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Eggs, Pancakes or Singin Hinnie or, of course, you can choose the more traditional bacon (from local butcher) and eggs (free range from Belford farm).

As an alternative to dining out we offer a cheese board for guests to enjoy in their room, in the dining room or in the courtyard, when weather permits. This includes local speciality cheeses.

Grounds and gardens

Enjoy the lovely walled garden and paved courtyard with plenty of garden furniture where you can find a quiet, sunny spot to enjoy afternoon tea, read a book or just relax with a glass of wine.

Other facilities

On the landing between the bedrooms is a large bookcase from where you can help yourself to a glass of sherry or Lindisfarne mead and a good book to read.

Situated in the centre of Belford village, Market Cross is an ideal base for exploring many of the outstanding attractions that the area has to offer: Lindisfarne (Holy Island), Bamburgh Castle, Alnwick Castle (location for the Harry Potter films), the Alnwick Garden, Cragside and many more.
