Introduction

Echoing the tranquility of the 130 acre estate, the bedrooms, housed in a beautifully restored 17th century granary, are restful, relaxing and spacious. They are decorated in light, soothing colours and are well equipped with creature comforts. Early risers can enjoy the dawn chorus and experience the fascinating wildlife activities if you tiptoe around the estate just after sunrise.

Children over 10 are welcome.

History to the present day

This Devon longhouse and converted granary were once part of a very much larger Estate. The tenant farmers were housed in the buildings and the granary was used at one point for looking after disadvantaged children from the surrounding area.  Turkeys were then raised in the building, followed by other livestock. There is an old green lane on the Estate together with a butter well, which was used to keep dairy products cool and safe. There is a long history of the Metherell family living here, and, upon excavation, an old tombstone was unearthed bearing the name Maria Metherell, who died at 48.

Food and Drinks

Breakfast is served between 8.00am - 9.30am. Choose from a varied selection of fresh grapefruit, organic yoghurt with fruit, seeds and honey. Organic homemade muesli. Organic porridge and a choice of cereals. Choice of poached eggs, omelettes, smoked haddock, sausages, bacon and faggots. A good selection of fruit juices, teas and coffees are served.

The award-winning restaurant at Percy's is supplied home-grown ingredients from the surrounding organic estate, including pork, venison and lamb, whilst fish is bought from the daily fish auction at Looe.

Grounds and gardens

After you've checked in, ditch the city shoes for a pair of the wellies that line the hallway and Tony will take you on a tour of the organic farm, introducing you to Boris the boar and the racehorses he breeds before the dogs takeover, joining you for a hike around the 130 acre estate.

For the less energetic, Percy's is a restorative haven for those who need to unwind. Offering a unique blend of natural beauty, peace, wildlife and beautiful woodland.

An inviting patio offers outstanding views and is a wonderful place to relax with a chilled bottle of burgundy on a hot summers day.
