History to the present day

This dramatic property on the River Kent dates back to 1626 and was home to renowned makers of leather for 250 years.

Food and Drinks

Full English breakfast is served. With their own kitchen garden, which supplies as much quality fresh fruit, vegetables and herbs as possible, all grown using organic principles. Free range Middle White Pork and Herdwick Lamb are also reared on their own farm, and great care is taken over suppliers who offer complete traceability and give a guarantee of flavour and tenderness. Cumbria is world famous for its beef and lamb, reared in the lush green hills.

Directions: Leave the M6 at Junction 36. Follow the dual carriageway signposted for Kendal and take the first exit for Kendal town centre. Join the one way system along Highgate. Turn right into Lowther Street and continue on the one way system. After passing the bus station on your left, turn right at the traffic lights into Sandes Avenue. Go over the bridge and past the Peugeot Garage, then get into the right hand lane to turn right at the mini roundabout. Keep going right past the County Hotel into Wildman Street. Just before the bridge, turn right at the zebra crossing into Beezon Road and the hotel is on your left.

From Windermere: Follow Windermere Road into Kendal past the County Offices. At the traffic lights turn left into the one-way system along Sandes Avenue and past the Peugeot Garage on your left, then get into the right hand lane and turn right at the mini roundabout. Keep going right past the County Hotel into Wildman Street. Just before the bridge, turn right at the zebra crossing into Beezon Road and the hotel is on your left.

Nearest Train station is Kendal.
