Introduction

A Robert Adam style house, built in 1797, with delightful original features. The hotel is set in a rural setting on the outskirts of the small but extremely busy town of Strathaven, central Lanarkshire. Situated just 8 miles from the M74 main motorway link and just 8 miles from the busy larger towns of East Kilbride and Hamilton.

With 22 bedrooms, all individually decorated and well equiped with en suite bathrooms, flatscreen TV, free WIFI, Mini Bar and tea and coffee making facilities.

History to the present day

The Best Western Strathaven Hotel is privately owned and managed by the MacIntyre family. The main building dates back to 1797 and was originally built for a Glasgow Merchant. It was designed by the famous Robert Adam, still retaining many original features and is a Category B listed building.

Food and Drinks

A Full Scottish Breakfast and a buffet with cereal, fresh fruit and yoghurt is served from 7.00am - 9.30am Monday - Saturday and Sunday from 8.00am -10.00am

The award-winning restaurant, recently refurbished, has the option of the Table d'Hote or Grill Menu, or you can enjoy a Bar Meal from the extensive menu in the East Lounge.
