Introduction
Welcome to Stratton Gardens where care, comfort and delicious food await you at the 16th century guest house. Relax in the peaceful surroundings of the picturesque historic village of Stratton. Close to the beaches at Bude and the coastal path it is also ideally situated as a base for exploring Cornwall and Devon with the Eden Project and other places of interest within easy reach. The B&B has five spacious rooms, all en-suite and is committed to supporting sustainable tourism in its approach to the management of the guesthouse.
History to the present day
Stratton Gardens is a Cornish house dating back to the 16th century. Originally owned by the Church, in the past it has been used a retreat for the clergy. Rumour has it that there is a priest's hole somewhere in the property with a tunnel to the local church.
Food and Drinks
Breakfast is served from 8.30am - 9.30am in the dining room. Milk, bacon, sausages and eggs are sourced from local farms, other locally grown produce is used whenever possible. The generous breakfasts start with a good selection of juices, fresh fruit and cereals, a choice of full English breakfast with local Cornish sausages, a Cornish smoked mackerel on toast or porridge served with local honey. Toast and a range of teas and coffees accompany the meal. Vegetarian and gluten free options are available.
Stratton Gardens has a licensed bar where you can order a range of drinks.
Grounds and gardens
As the premises are fully licensed, you may wish to enjoy a glass of wine in the large and secluded terraced garden. Bird lovers will enjoy watching the many visitors to the bird-table as well as the swifts and buzzards that regularly fly over the garden.
Other facilities
All rooms have free wi-fi access. Guest accommodation includes a comfortable and spacious guest lounge, with seasonal open fire, where books, newspapers, magazines and board games are freely available for guests' use. Local maps and walking route books are also available for guests to borrow.

Directions: From the A39. Once in the village of Stratton, take the A3072 towards Holsworthy. Follow this road into Fore Street, passing the Tree Inn on your left. Bear left into Market Street and Cot Hill is on your right.
From the A3072, as you come into the village of Stratton, take the second right turn into Old Post Office Hill. At the junction with the Tree Inn opposite, turn right into Fore Street, Cot Hill is on your right.
By Train: Barnstaple, where taxis are available. It is about 50 minutes drive to Stratton.
