Introduction

Strumhor is a lochside bed and breakfast with views over the hills, islands and Falls of Lora. The decor is contemporary and the rooms have all been refurbished recently. On arrival tea or coffee with home baking is served in the sunlounge overlooking the Falls of Lora. The bedrooms have a variety of teas, coffees and chocolate, with chocolate biscuits and sweets. There is a fridge in the hall for fresh milk, bottled water and for guest use. All bedrooms are equipped with hairdryer and extra blankets. Most also have dressing gowns. There is also a flat screeen TV with integral DVD player in the two single rooms and very soon the same will replace the TVs in the two doubles. Three of the four rooms have views over the sea.

Tony and Olga want you to enjoy a relaxed and comfortable stay and are happy to advise on walks and days out.

Please note that one night bookings are not taken from Easter through until the end of September.

Food and Drinks

Breakfasts are home cooked with a wide variety of choices, from the full Scottish including haggis to home-made pancakes with maple syrup and bacon. A special is also offered every day in the summer. There is a substantial buffet with a choice of cereals, home-baked bread, choice of fruit, yoghurt and fruit juices.

There are three restaurants in the village, one just round the corner. Oban is only five miles away for further choice.

Other facilities

There is a guest lounge with large television with Freeview, a piano, a large library of books and a wood-burning stone in the winter. The conservatory has books on local history and activities, as well as a substantial section on wildlife and kayaking. It also has binoculars and a telescope. There are maps available for guest use.

There is a patio for enjoying the sun outside the front door and plenty of parking. Bikes can be stored securely. Kayaking is also available with Tony, a qualified instructor and his team. No experience is necessary but booking is essential and experienced paddlers are also welcome.
