Introduction

Ty'n Rhos 5* Country House & Restaurant is located in Snowdonia, between Bangor, Caernarfon, Anglesey and Llanberis. We offer stylish country house accommodation with a fine dining restaurant and friendly and welcoming ambience.

Ty'n Rhos was originally a farmhouse built in 1870 and is set within many acres of rolling countryside with stunning views. Over the years the owners have added to the property making a most distinct and stylish country house. We have a lake which is being developed for trout fishing to complement the hotel and surroundings, and we have set aside one of our fields for helicopter landing.

The most lovely walks are close by and you will be astounded by what the area has to offer. Ty'n Rhos has log fires, luxury bedding, towels, toiletries & individually designed bedrooms, many with superking beds that can convert to twins if required. We have a number of dining options from a lighter conservatory menu to five-course fine dining in our gourmet restaurant where the Chef Patron is an award winning World Master Chef.

History to the present day

Ty'n Rhos dates back to 1870 - the original property and surrounding land have seen their fair share of change over the years and you cannot but help marvel at the surrounding villages, countryside and mountain scenery that stretch for miles.

We are surrounded by historic sites including many medieval castles - Caernarfon, Beaumaris, Conwy, Harlech and many more. World renowned gardens such as Bodnant Gardens and many historic properties such as Plas Newydd, Penrhyn Castle & many more listed with the National Trust.

Food and Drinks

Our superb surroundings and award winning chefs offer a choice of dining experiences:

Fine Dining in our Garden View Restaurant - 2, 3 or 5 courses mid-week and 5 courses on Friday & Saturday nights - accompanied by canapes.

If you prefer a lighter choice menu in the Conservatory, choose from a bowl of freshly made soup with home made bread rolls or an omelette.

Cream teas and snacks are served all year in the conservatory and gardens.

Grounds and gardens

Ty'n Rhos has lovely gardens for you to stroll in - or walk down to the lake and see the swans, geese or other migratory birds that visit from time to time.

We have garden seating dotted about and you can order your cream tea or afternoon tea (why not add a bottle of champagne?). You can also check on the gardener - Irfon - who is busy all year tending to the gardens and the vegetable and flower allotments, providing fresh veg and flowers for the kitchen and restaurant. Look out for Susy our lovely fluffy little terrier, who constantly patrols the grounds for new friends and walking companions.
