Introduction
Wanslea is a late 19th century AA four star Guest House in Ambleside at the heart of the English Lake District. All rooms are en-suite, standard rooms have showers and premier rooms have spa baths. Free view TV in all rooms with premier rooms having wide screen sets. Hair dryers, tea/coffee makers and CD Radios are also in all rooms.
Please note that the minimum stay on a weekend is 2 nights.
There are many historical places of interest to visit close by. Evidence of the Roman occupation is to be found at Galva, just a few minutes walk from Wanslea. A drive of thirty to forty minutes will get you to the remains of the Roman fort at the wild and exposed Hardknot pass. Hadrian's wall is within an hour by car. Houses used by the Lakes poets and writers are all within easy reach. The famous Dove cottage is just three miles away and Beatrice Potters Hill Top is close by.
