History to the present day

Originally the family home of The Earl of Moray it features one of only three similar ornate brass staircases in Britain, dating from 1806.

Directions: From M5 (North or Southbound) Exit at Junction 11 Follow the dual carriageway into Cheltenham (passing GCHQ building on your left) At the first roundabout carry on straight over into the Lansdown Road. Follow this road, passing through several sets of traffic lights, until you reach a roundabout with Barclays Bank on the left-hand-side. This area is called the Rotunda / Montpellier. Take the third exit of the roundabout into Suffolk Square. Willoughby House is located 50 metres ahead of you.

From London (either A40 or M40) Proceed into Cheltenham on the main road (A40) until you reach the High Street. Follow the one-way system into the Bath Road. Stay in the right-hand land and follow the road which bears round to the right, then change into the left-lane, through one set of traffic lights and passing the Town Hall on your left. At the next set of traffic lights turn left onto The Promenade and proceed gently uphill passing the Queen's Hotel on the left, until you reach a roundabout (The Rotunda) take the second exit off the roundabout into Suffolk Square. Willoughby House is located 50 metres ahead of you.
