Introduction
Windmill House is set in a peaceful location, surrounded by gardens and a valley, yet only one mile from Edinburgh city centre. An excellent base for touring Edinburgh with its world famous festival, museums, galleries, shopping, restaurants, bars and cafes. From the house, the city centre is accessed via the garden which leads through to a bridge then onto a riverside walk into the city.
Spacious accommodation which features rooms with comfortable beds and easy chairs to relax in. Rooms include television and video with quality soaps and bath essences together with large fluffy white towels and luxury en suite bathrooms with power showers.
History to the present day
The house was built in the Georgian period and retains many original features such as a pillared entrance hall with a galleried staircase, open fires and sash windows.
Food and Drinks
Enjoy the full English/Scottish cooked breakfast, served freshly to order in the period dining room, with views over the valley.
Grounds and gardens
The house has two acres of quiet gardens with a waterfall, terrace and views over the valley of the Water of Leith. The garden is home to ducks, swans and badgers, who come to be fed every night. Enjoy a game of croquet on the lawn.

Directions: Situated 1 mile west of Princes Street. From Murrayfield Avenue turn into Coltbridge Avenue then into Coltbridge Gardens. At the end of Coltbridge Gardens fork left up hill on private drive then fork left through stone gate pillars signed Windmill House.
